96.66% of Rossington residents voted against unnecessary building in or around the village in a Parish Poll 24th July 2008. 898 voted NO, 31 voted YES. No need for extra housing in Rossington or Doncaster.
Developers propose 15,000 new houses on greenfield sites, locals protest. Developers propose 5,000 homes, locals say NO. What next for snECOtown developers? Propose 500 houses, get permission - build 15,000! Listen and Learn!
Local MP and former Housing Minister jumps back on the promotional bandwagon with a 'consultation' questionnaire to Rossington households. Promising one third of the homes 'affordable'; to whom? At an average of £179k each and an average local salary of £15k, what part of affordable is this a "low-cost property to help first time buyer and low income families"?
